Wedding Poems and Quotes – Words To Inspire

This month our words to inspire mean a lot to me. I said them to my husband at our ceremony. If you can find something that really portrays how you feel, its a great way to tell the man of your dreams how much you care. Especially if like me you can’t always find the words to express what you want to say, a great poem you can identify with will really do the trick.

Its also a little different for the bride to read something at the ceremony. Our guests loved it and it made the ceremony all the more special for us. You can even get the stationer who does your invites to get the poem/reading printed on lovely card for you. Its makes a lovely keepsake.

I Carry Your Heart with me   ( EE Cummings)

I carry your heart with me

I carry it in my heart

I am never without it

Anywhere I go you go, my dear;

And whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling I fear.

No fate, for your are my fate, my sweet

I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)

and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant

and whatever a sun will always sing is you.

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows

Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud

and the sky of the sky of a tree called life

which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide

and this is the wonder thats keeping the stars apart.

I carry your heart I carry it in my heart.

Sometimes inspiration comes from all places and I found this when watching the film In Her Shoes with Cameron Diaz, listen to the gorgeous words here.

If you have a poem or reading that means something special to you, please send it and I will feature it on our blog. If you have a question you want answering give us a call or email and we will be happy to help.

Until next time, happy planning.

I love this reading – I’ve written it a few times in calligraphy for customers as a wedding reading keepsake. It’s quite unusual and very poignant – great choice. I’ll remember your blog and send you some of the more unusual poems I get asked to write. I think you’d like them!

Hi Claire, that would be be brilliant, I try and post a reading once a month. Its hard to find them sometimes so I like to try and add ones that are a bit unusual and may appeal to different types of personalities. I will of course now be able to recommend a good calligrapher when I need one.
